Richland Handyman Services
Richland is one of the towns Speedy's works in most, from the Hanford-era alphabet houses and duplexes of central Richland to Meadow Springs, Horn Rapids and the newer streets of Badger Mountain South.
From alphabet houses to new builds
Central and north Richland still have many of the alphabet houses the government built for Hanford workers between 1943 and 1951, duplexes included. At 75-plus years old they've been patched and updated many times: walls with layers of repairs, original trim that's split or missing, and small kitchens and baths owners keep refreshing. South Richland, around Meadow Springs, Badger Mountain and Badger Mountain South, is mostly newer construction, and Horn Rapids on the north end is a mix.
Sun, wind and the entry door
Richland's long, bright summers are hard on anything with a finish facing the street. Two of our Richland jobs were entry doors whose coating had failed in the sun, one a double front door that blistered after about six years. Wind does its own damage to screens and pet doors, and older homes lose trim and caulk at the joints as the seasons swing.

What customers say
We had James repaint a double front-entry door that had badly blistered after only 6 years of use. … James researched suitable paints and methods of preparing the surface for repainting. The result was perfectly smooth and uniform in the color and gloss we wanted. … An impressed neighbor also plans to use his services.
Very fast, great communication, love these people!!! Fair and honest, will use again.
Really great service and experience; I would definitely recommend them for general contracting work.
Questions Richland homeowners ask
Do you work on Richland's alphabet houses and duplexes?
Yes. We've replaced baseboard and trim through both sides of a central Richland duplex and built new cabinet doors for one. Homes built before 1978 can have lead paint, and Washington's lead-safe renovation rules cover sanding and demo, so tell us roughly when your house was built when you call.
Can a sun-damaged front door be refinished instead of replaced?
In Richland we've done it twice: stripped a failing gel finish and repainted, and refinished a double entry door that had blistered. If the door and frame are solid, refinishing is usually the first thing we look at.
Can you hang a TV on a tile wall?
Yes. For one Richland homeowner we mounted a large TV on tile using a heavy-duty full-motion bracket and anchors suited to the tile and backing.
Do you handle duplex and rental turnovers in Richland?
Yes. Trim, cabinet doors, paint touch-ups, door hardware and caulking between tenants are all on the list.
