Frequently Asked Questions
Plain answers about Speedy's Handyman, our services and the Tri-Cities area we serve.
Do you serve the whole Tri-Cities?
Yes. Speedy's Handyman is based in Kennewick and works across the Tri-Cities: Kennewick, Pasco (including West Pasco), Richland, West Richland, Benton City and Burbank. Not sure if you're in range? Call (509) 518-3320.
What everyday home repairs does Speedy's Handyman do?
The everyday list: slow drains and small leaks (we bring in a licensed plumber for the plumbing itself and fix the damage around it), attic and bath vents, window sealing, roof jacks and small roof leaks, senior safety like grab bars and ramps, plug-in and battery hallway lighting, and TV mounting. Plus drywall, doors, siding and stucco. Call (509) 518-3320.
Do you do drywall repair and texture matching?
Yes. Drywall patching with the texture matched to your walls is one of the jobs Speedy's does most, along with water-damage repairs and interior and exterior painting.
Do you install flooring?
Yes. Speedy's installs luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and vinyl flooring, sheet vinyl, and carpet and pad including stairs, and repairs the subfloor first when it's soft or rotted.
Does Speedy's Handyman do kitchen and bathroom remodels?
Yes. Speedy's updates kitchens and bathrooms: shower surrounds and doors, vanities, countertops, backsplash tile, drywall, texture, paint and trim. Any plumbing on the job is done by a licensed plumber we bring in, and electrical work goes to our sister company, Speedy's Electrical. In 2026 Speedy's took over and finished a Kennewick bathroom after the previous contractor flooded the kitchen below.
Does Speedy's Handyman do kitchen remodels and kitchen repairs?
Yes, both. Kitchen remodels usually keep the layout and cabinet boxes and change the rest: cabinet doors sprayed in our paint booth, new hardware, laminate countertops, backsplash tile, flooring and paint. Kitchen repairs include cabinet doors, hinges and drawer slides, countertop and backsplash seams, and leak damage under the sink. A licensed plumber we bring in handles sink and dishwasher hookups.
Does Speedy's Handyman do bathroom repairs as well as remodels?
Yes. Along with full bathroom remodels, we handle everyday bathroom repairs: re-caulking tubs and showers, shower door adjustment and replacement, bath fan duct work, grab bars (including through tile), towel bars and mirrors, and drywall or subfloor damage after a leak. The plumbing itself goes to a licensed plumber we bring in.
Who does cabinet refinishing in the Tri-Cities?
Speedy's Handyman refinishes kitchen and bathroom cabinets, cabinet doors, interior doors, trim and furniture for Tri-Cities homeowners. Doors and parts are sprayed in Speedy's 1,500 sq ft climate-controlled shop with a commercial-grade paint booth, and owner James Hoidal has 30 years in the trades.
Can damaged trim or baseboards be repaired without replacing them?
Often, yes. Speedy's repairs worn or damaged spots on trim, baseboards, door casing and cabinets and blends the repair into the existing finish with color-matched paint, so you don't pay to replace whole runs of trim or a full set of cabinets.
Can you get the plumbing fixed too?
Yes. We hire a licensed plumber we trust for the plumbing itself and schedule them into your job. We handle the leak-damage repairs, drywall, cabinets and caulking around it, and you get one invoice.
Can you fix a roof jack or a small roof leak?
Yes. Speedy's handles small roof repairs for Tri-Cities homeowners, such as sealing roof jacks and vent boots, repairing flashing, replacing loose or missing shingles, fixing attic vent dampers and repairing rotted fascia and soffit, before a small leak becomes a big problem.
Do you repair siding, stucco and decks?
Yes. Speedy's repairs and replaces siding boards, patches stucco cracks and impact damage, repairs deck framing and boards, and fixes fences, gates and dryer vents, finishing each repair to match the house.
Can you replace or repair exterior doors and weatherstripping?
Yes. Speedy's replaces exterior doors (pre-hung, with jamb rebuilds when needed), repairs doors, jambs and frames, installs sliding patio doors, deadbolts and smart locks, and replaces door sweeps and weatherstripping. We also seal and caulk windows.
Do you install grab bars and other senior-safety upgrades?
Yes. Speedy's installs grab bars, railings and handrails, builds wheelchair and entry ramps and makes other safety upgrades so seniors can stay safe and independent at home.
Do you mount TVs?
Yes. Speedy's mounts TVs, including large ones, with paintable cord covers, and hangs soundbars, shelving, blinds and curtain rods. Need a new outlet behind the TV? Our sister company, Speedy's Electrical, adds it during the same project.
