Kitchen Remodels & Repairs

Speedy's Handyman does kitchen remodels and kitchen repairs in Kennewick, Richland, Pasco and the rest of the Tri-Cities: cabinets sprayed in our own paint booth, countertops, backsplash tile, cabinet and drawer fixes, and the damage a leak leaves under the sink. A licensed plumber we bring in handles sink and dishwasher hookups.

One call, one invoice. We handle the repairs, and when your project needs plumbing, electrical or HVAC, we hire licensed pros we trust and fit them into the schedule. Call (509) 518-3320.

What does a kitchen remodel with Speedy's look like?

Many kitchen remodels keep the layout and the cabinet boxes and change what you see and touch every day: painted cabinet doors and drawer fronts, new hardware, a new laminate countertop, backsplash tile, flooring and paint. Keeping the boxes is what makes it a remodel instead of a rebuild.

  • Kitchen refreshes: painted cabinets, new hardware, backsplash and paint
  • Cabinet doors, drawer fronts and face frames sprayed in our paint booth
  • Laminate countertop replacement
  • Countertop cutouts for a new drop-in sink, with dust containment (a licensed plumber handles the hookup)
  • Backsplash tile installation
  • Kitchen flooring: LVP and sheet vinyl

Why are the cabinet doors sprayed in a paint booth?

Doors and drawer fronts come back to our 1,500 sq ft climate-controlled shop on W Clearwater Ave and get sprayed in a commercial-grade paint booth, away from the dust and fumes of your house. The frames stay put and are finished on site. More on cabinet refinishing.

What kitchen repairs can you fix?

A kitchen doesn't need a remodel to need work. These are the kitchen fixes we see on job lists:

  • Backsplash and countertop seam resealing and re-caulking
  • Cabinet door, hinge, face-frame and drawer-slide repair
  • Replacement cabinet doors built and color-matched
  • Sink-base floor and cabinet repair after a leak (once a licensed plumber fixes the leak)
  • Microwave trim and range hood duct work (the wiring goes to Speedy's Electrical)
  • Drywall, texture and paint

How do you keep dust down when cutting a countertop?

On a Benton City kitchen, we hung floor-to-ceiling plastic containment, ran negative air vented outside over the deck rail, and kept dust extraction running while we cut and reshaped the countertop opening for a new drop-in sink. On the same visit we resealed a failing backsplash seam with a color-matched, stain-resistant sealer.

Who hooks up the sink, faucet, dishwasher and wiring?

Sink, faucet, disposal and dishwasher hookups are plumbing, so a licensed plumber we hire does them. New outlets, lighting and appliance wiring go to our sister company, Speedy's Electrical. We schedule both around your cabinets, counters and backsplash. You make one call to (509) 518-3320 and get one invoice.

How does a kitchen project work, step by step?

  1. Call or text (509) 518-3320 with photos of the kitchen and your list.
  2. On-site look to measure and check the cabinet boxes, countertop and floor.
  3. Written quote for labor and materials, item by item.
  4. Shop work. Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed in our paint booth while on-site work goes ahead.
  5. On-site work with dust control: countertops, backsplash, flooring and repairs; a licensed plumber for hookups.
  6. Reinstall doors and hardware, touch up, and hand you an itemized invoice.

★★★★★
We had James repaint a double front-entry door that had badly blistered after only 6 years of use. … James researched suitable paints and methods of preparing the surface for repainting. The result was perfectly smooth and uniform in the color and gloss we wanted. … An impressed neighbor also plans to use his services.

FAQ

Kitchen Remodels & Repairs: common questions

Does Speedy's Handyman do kitchen remodels and kitchen repairs?

Yes, both. Kitchen remodels usually keep the layout and cabinet boxes and change the rest: cabinet doors sprayed in our paint booth, new hardware, laminate countertops, backsplash tile, flooring and paint. Kitchen repairs include cabinet doors, hinges and drawer slides, countertop and backsplash seams, and leak damage under the sink. A licensed plumber we bring in handles sink and dishwasher hookups.

Can you paint my kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them?

Yes. If the cabinet boxes are sound, we take the doors and drawer fronts to our shop, spray them in the paint booth, finish the frames on site and add new hardware. It keeps your layout and avoids a tear-out.

Can you replace just one damaged cabinet door?

Yes. We've replaced and color-matched a single kitchen cabinet door in Pasco, and built new plywood cabinet doors with a routed inset edge in Richland, then sprayed them to match.

Can you fix a backsplash seam or a gap along the countertop?

Yes. We cut out failed caulk or sealer and reseal the seam with a color-matched, stain-resistant product, as we did on a Benton City kitchen.

Do you install kitchen sinks and faucets?

The countertop cutout, cabinet work and any damage repair are ours. The faucet, drain and supply hookups are plumbing, so a licensed plumber we bring in handles them.

Is Speedy's Handyman a licensed contractor for kitchen remodels?

Speedy's Handyman (SPEEDYS HANDYMAN LLC) is a Washington State L&I registered general contractor, Reg. # SPEEDHL745P1, carrying $1,000,000 general liability insurance. Cabinets, doors, countertops, backsplash and floors are ours; sink and dishwasher hookups go to a licensed plumber we bring in, and wiring to Speedy's Electrical.
