TV Mounting in Kennewick, WA

Speedy's Handyman does TV mounting in Kennewick, Richland, Pasco and the rest of the Tri-Cities. We mount TVs level and solid on drywall over wood studs, tile, brick, stone and over fireplaces, from bedroom TVs to an 80-inch screen, and tidy the cords with paintable covers. New outlets go to Speedy's Electrical.

One call, one invoice. We handle the repairs, and when your project needs plumbing, electrical or HVAC, we hire licensed pros we trust and fit them into the schedule. Call (509) 518-3320.

Need a new outlet behind the TV? Speedy's Electrical, our sister company, handles it. One call, one invoice.

What walls can you mount a TV on?

  • Drywall over wood studs. Most Kennewick homes. We find the studs, confirm them, and lag the wall plate into the framing. Drywall anchors alone don't hold a TV, especially on a full-motion arm that leverages the weight away from the wall.
  • Off-center studs. When the studs don't line up with where the TV should sit, we use a mount with a wider plate or sliding adjustment, so the TV ends up centered on the wall or the furniture.
  • Tile. In Richland we mounted a large TV on a tile wall with a heavy-duty full-motion bracket, drilling the tile carefully and anchoring into what's behind it.
  • Brick and stone. We drill into solid brick, block or stone with masonry bits and use masonry anchors rated for the load, keeping to solid material rather than crumbly mortar joints.

Which TV mount should I use?

Fixed mounts hold the TV closest to the wall and suit a room where you always watch from straight ahead. Tilting mounts angle the screen down a few degrees, which helps when the TV sits higher, such as above a mantel or a dresser. Full-motion arms pull the TV out and swing it toward a kitchen or a second seat, but they put the most leverage on the wall, so they always go into studs or solid masonry. Corner mounts and ceiling mounts are possible too. If you're not sure, tell us how the room is used and we'll suggest one.

Can you mount a TV over a fireplace?

Usually, yes. Before we mount over a fireplace, we look at three things: what the chimney surround is made of (framed drywall, brick or stone), how hot the wall gets above the firebox and mantel, and how high the screen will end up. A TV above a mantel often sits higher than is comfortable to watch, so a tilting or pull-down mount can help. If heat or height makes it a bad spot, we'll tell you before anything gets drilled.

How big a TV can you mount?

From bedroom TVs to big living-room screens. In Kennewick we mounted an 80-inch TV, and in a new Pasco home we mounted a 75-inch TV and a 48-inch bedroom TV on the same punch-list visit, along with assembling a king bed. Bigger screens get two people and a mount rated well past the TV's weight.

What happens on a TV mounting visit?

  1. Tell us the TV size and model, the wall it's going on and whether you have a mount. If you do, have the box handy so we can check its weight rating and VESA hole pattern against the TV.
  2. Pick the height. We hold it up with you and usually set the center of the screen near eye level from the couch.
  3. Find the framing or check the masonry, and mark level.
  4. Mount and hang the TV, then check level, tilt and swing.
  5. Tidy the cords with a paintable cord cover on the wall, and clean up.

TV mounting up to 75 inches can be requested online: just tell us what you need and we'll set up a visit. For bigger TVs, fireplaces, stone or a whole list, call (509) 518-3320.

FAQ

TV Mounting & Installs: common questions

Can you mount a TV above a fireplace in Kennewick?

Usually, yes. We check what the surround is made of, how hot the wall gets above the mantel and how high the screen will sit, then mount into framing or masonry. If heat or height makes it a poor spot, we tell you before drilling.

Can you mount a TV on a brick or stone wall?

Yes. We drill solid brick, block or stone with masonry bits and use masonry anchors rated for the TV and mount, keeping to solid material rather than mortar joints.

Can you mount a TV on tile?

Yes. Speedy's has mounted large TVs on tile walls using a heavy-duty full-motion bracket and the right anchors for the substrate.

Can you hide the TV cords?

We run the cords in a paintable cord cover on the wall surface so they disappear once painted to match. Need a new outlet behind the TV? Our sister company, Speedy's Electrical, adds it during the same project.

Can I book TV mounting online?

Yes. Use the request form on our contact page to request a visit for TV mounting up to 75 inches. For bigger TVs, fireplace or stone walls, or several jobs in one visit, call (509) 518-3320.

Can you take care of electrical work too?

Yes, as part of your project. Electrical work is done by our sister company, Speedy's Electrical. You still make one call to (509) 518-3320, we schedule the electrician around the rest of the job, and you get one invoice for everything.
